Made specifically for the exhibition Homing Pidgin at the DeYoung Museum, these contemporary interpretation of Oceanic dance and spirit clubs aim to complicate the traditional ceremonial apparatus in the region. These versions take common table legs topped with architectural models that resembles contemporary dance clubs or places where dancing is a central aspect of gatherings and communal celebrations. These contemporary dance clubs have flashing disco lights and dance music.
