The Mid-Winter International Exposition of 1894 was held on Golden Gate park in San Francisco, the brainchild of Michael H. de Young. These "ceremonial" clubs were made by Oceanic people within ethnographic exhibitions. They are much more elaborate than most clubs found in their native home.
