Soon after Spain surrendered the Philippines to the United States in 1898, a Muslim insurgence began. The weapon of the time employed a 38 caliber round which was not effective in stopping the native Filipinos from giving a fatal blow with their swords. The Americans responded by developing a larger round, the 45 caliber. This enlarged wooden replica has a functional slide, trigger, and hammer. It fires one round of a size 18 rubber band.
